Meet Brandie Baker
Animal lover Brandie Baker grew up in Burns Lake and always wanted to operate a kennel. Bakers Acres Kennels is a fulfillment of that dream, and Brandie is thrilled to be able to earn a living doing something she loves. Burns Lake was in need of a kennel service when she was first getting into the business, and she gets a sense of satisfaction from being able to provide a valuable service that people deeply appreciate. Brandie raised her family in Burns Lake and is proud that her sons are now a part of her business. Her sons inherited her love for animals, and when she’s not working Brandie enjoys spending time with them and their farm animals.
Brandie loves Burns Lake living because here, she says, you can have the best of both worlds. She is able to live in the country (where there is lots of room for her furry friends) and yet still be close enough to town that her business is still conveniently accessible by her clients. She also appreciates the fact that it’s easy to get to know people in Burns Lake, and that most faces she encounters in Burns Lake are familiar, friendly ones.
Many of Brandie’s hobbies revolve around animals, like horseback riding. She also likes to frequent her favourite Burns Lake shops and restaurants, especially Alternative Grounds, when she isn’t busy working.
